TOWNIE (2009)

CoverTownie

Recorded live at Sage Hill, Schuyler VA
Produced by Stuart Gunter and Kat Mills
Engineered by Mark Goldstein, Sandalwood Recording, Charlottesville VA

The third solo release in six years, Townie is a warm, raw and poignant set recorded live in the living room of producer Stuart Gunter over a long weekend in summer 2008.  Joining Kat are husband Nicholas Polys (The Jugbusters) on banjo, old friend John Priestley (The Orderlies, Schwa) on mandolin and guitar, and a rock solid rhythm section in Mark Goldstein and Stuart Gunter (Wrinkle Necked Mules), well known Charlottesville players, producers and all-around great guys.  With four originals, a new hypnotic version of favorite single 'Long Time', two covers and two traditionals, Townie serves up a tasty folk buffet.

TWO (2006)

Featuring an all-star lineup

Kat Mills: vocals, guitar
Marc Shulman (Suzanne Vega): electric guitars
Larry Campbell (Levon Helm, Phil Lesh, Bob Dylan): guitar/fiddle/mandolin
Scott Petito (The Fugs): bass, keys, extras
Jerry Marotta (Peter Gabriel, Indigo Girls): drums, percussion

A word from Kat on working with Scott Petito...

"TWO is actually the third project I have worked on with Scott. We have developed a great friendship over the years, and it translates into the records. In addition to his flawless engineering skills, he has been my #1 bass player, and a true mentor. Scott has a rare ability to read what I want, add his expertise and work with me to create a sound we both can be proud of." Check out his work at Scott Petito Productions.

LONG TIME (2003)
