A road trip South in Maxine, the Transcendent Recording's '73 VW Bus, was just what the band needed to break the Winter blues... After 16 hours of driving without heat, we were suprised to find it wasn't really any warmer in Tennessee!
We got a room near the megaplex OPRYLAND Hotel, a sprawling indoor convention center that housed 3 different jungles (complete with tropical waterfalls, pools, and fish) and room numbers that looked like zipcodes. Surreal to say the least... We raged the National Association of Campus Activities National Convention, meeting many kynd friends from Florida to North Carolina to Boston to Indiana to Alaska.! Howdy y'all! Refreshing to meet so many active students and artists having a good time and networking with each other... Let's make these coming years fruitful! Sow GRASS at a campus near YOU!!!
And then, well, then Teusday came and we headed across town to the World Famous Station Inn where we opened up for The Sidemen. A fabulous good-vibe venue for bluegrass music!
Special thanks should also go to the 'Home Team', both Will's and Kat's fathers came down for the show, giving great support and providing us with some documentation of the whole evening...
Here is a short MPEG movie with audio from our performance: the classic, Wild Horses
and another favorite, To Love and Live Together
PS: We also got some great Rockumentary footage on video!
PPS: Spring's a-comin'!
